Hipman_Junky_1500

HIPMAN JUNKY is a fresh Indie pop singer/songwriter whose music is a unique blend of British street style with a twist. He’s performed all over the UK, incorporating all his experiences into his music and song writing.

Hipman Junky is currently finishing his début EP- a melting pot of sounds mirroring his diverse musical style and tastes.

Hippy grew up in a musical household, Dad was a DJ and mum always had music playing. Soul, Reggae and 80’s pop were the lifeblood.

He discovered pop at an early age and loved acts as diverse as Oasis, Phil Collins, Artic Monkeys and The Prodigy.

This led him to writing his own material at an early age and even in Church he was always singing and humming along to his own beat.

At 14 years old he entered an MC competition and won. From then on he realised this was the direction he wanted to go in. The roar of the crowd gave him an adrenaline boost and Hipman Junky was born.

Growing up in West London in Kensal Green, an area that has always been populated by creatives and music people, Hippy became part of that whole scene and that London feel is something that today sets his music apart.

He had a few turbulent years, where he, like so many others, got in with a bad crowd but then realised he had to get it together and follow his dreams and get his music career back on track.

In 2011 Hipman supported N-Dubz on their Love,Live,Life Tour as well as Dappy on his Rockstar Tour later that year.
His musical CV also sports the Mobo Tour 2012, the MacMillerUK Tour 2012 and in 2014 he opened for The Game & also that year supported Snoop Dogg.

He is a prolific songwriter and has had cuts with The Streets, Sway, Ashley Roberts, Benny Banks, Wiley and K Koke.

As a solo artist his influences are an eclectic mix and include Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Ian Drury, The Streets, Skepta, Bob Marley, Tupac, Lauren Hill, Beyonce, The Prodigy and Ludacris.

His current music shows these influences but brings a new edge with relevant lyrics.

Hippy could be described as a modern day spoken poet whose hooky melodies bring alive his music. His new EP has been produced by the team that collaborates with Rudimental, MNEK etc.

Prepare to be surprised, this is seriously FRESH, there is nothing like this out there and his live performance is gonna rock your world to its foundations.

The Game hits out at the Cops

The Game has officially been charged for hitting a police officer.
The 35-year-old rapper, real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor, was arrested earlier this month after he was accused of throwing a punch at an off-duty cop during an informal basketball game that took place in March.
According to PageSix, The Game pled not guilty in court on Monday to one felony count of making criminal threats and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery.
Apparently the musician was playing basketball in North Hollywood, California a few months ago when the incident occurred. It’s claimed he and the unidentified off-duty officer were playing on opposite teams. And when a foul call was called against The Game, he is accused of flipping out and throwing a punch at the cop.
If convicted for these offences, The Game could see himself locked up in prison for three years. He is currently out on a $50,000 bail bond and the star is next due in court over the matter on July 30.
Within the past decade, The Game has been arrested several times for various crimes. In October 2005 he was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mall security officers claimed The Game was wearing a full Halloween mask while cursing at shoppers loudly and when asked to leave, he refused to exit the premises. This behaviour supposedly led to his arrest, but the saga didn’t end there. Before he was taken into custody, The Game was pepper sprayed, and the hip hop musician later claimed authorities overreacted and that he did nothing to cause this response from mall security. The five officers involved in this incident sued him for defamation and they won the case, as they were awarded $5 million in compensatory damages.
In May 2007 he was arrested for threatening a person with a gun while attending a basketball game in Los Angeles. In February 2008 he pled no contest to a felony weapons charge, resulting in a 60 day jail sentence, 150 hours of community service and three years probation.
